HEO

Our Eyes for our Planet

HEO (Hawk for Earth Observation) is the constellation developed by Argotec as part of the IRIDE program, the largest Earth observation mega constellation in Europe.

Designed as a new generation of the award-winning HAWK platform, the satellites of the HEO constellation bring state-of-the-art space technology "Made in Argotec" to serve our planet, its future and that of generations to come.

HEO Argotec's Earth Observation Constellation,consists of up to 40satellites orbiting our planet.

The HEO constellation can monitor climate change and its effects in near real time, including soil erosion, deforestation, and ice melting. It can also provide timely warnings to prevent damage from natural disasters such as avalanches, floods, and earthquakes.
In addition, HEO's technological solutions and compact size offer significant potential for commercial development and promise to be a game-changer in sectors such as precision agriculture, oil and energy, insurance, logistics, and much more.

Technically, the satellites in the constellation are an evolution of the HAWK platform, which is the basis for the LICIACube and ArgoMoon missions.
These missions have already demonstrated Argotec's capabilities in terms of performance and reliability in Deep Space.
Weighing approximately 70 kg and providing ground observation capabilities with a resolution of less than 3 meters per pixel, this satellite represents a significant leap forward for Argotec in terms of reliability, computing power, and versatility.

HEO brings enhanced performance and technology to low Earth orbit, surpassing what has been achieved in the much more hostile environment of Deep Space, 11 million kilometers from Earth.
Its AI-enabled computing power enables on-board image processing. This means that Argotec's satellite is not just an "eye" sending data back to Earth, but a sophisticated brain capable of acquiring, processing, and analyzing highly significant and critical data for end-user activities.
Finally, Argotec's satellites are designed to be versatile and to serve multiple purposes while guaranteeing consistent performance.
HEO is part of the IRIDE program, initiated by the Italian government, funded by the PNRR funds, and coordinated by the European Space Agency.
